Blending modification of PVDF membrane is the most efficient way which can be applied to an industrial scale production. The incorporation of inorganic nanoparticles has been extensively studied due to its simplicity. Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)-titania (TiO
2)
composite hollow fiber membranes were prepared by phase inversion process. The microstructure, crystalline phase, uniformity, thermal stability, mechanical strength, hydrophilicity, ultrafiltration performance and antifouling ability of the membranes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersion of X-ray (EDX), thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), mechanical property test, contact angle measurement and ultrafiltration (UF) experiment, respectively. Compared to the pure PVDF membrane, the performances of composite membranes were improved greatly. When the mass fraction of TiO

·h) of the PVDF membrane to 377 L/(m
2
·h),rejection of bovine serum albumin (BSA) increased from 68% to 90%. Moreover, mechanical property, hydrophilicity and antifouling property were enhanced effectively.

Use of Ionic Liquid in Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Acetophenone
DING Fei, LOU Lan-Lan, YU Kai, LI Jie, LIU Shuang-Xi
Asymmetric hydrogenation of prochiral ketones by transition metal complexes is one of the most effective methods for the synthesis of enantiomerically pure secondary alcohols, and is of great importance in the fields of pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals and advanced materials. In this paper, the chiral Ru complex containing achiral monophosphine ligand and chiral diamine ligand is synthesized and immobilized in ionic liquids. The resulting catalytic system is evaluated in the asymmetric hydrogenation of acetophenone. The effects of various reaction conditions including reaction temperature, hydrogen pressure, solvent, amount of ionic liquids, on the catalytic activity are studied in detail. The results show that the chiral catalyst can be effectively immobilized in ionic liquids, and low Ru leaching is found. The chiral catalyst can be separated simply by extraction.

CHEN Rong, CHEN Ying, LIU Fang, LI Ping, HU Zhao-xia, WANG Hong-xing
The reactions of a variety of 4,6-dimethyl-1,3-bis(imino)benzenes 2a-g derived from 4, 6-dimethylisophthalaldehyde and anilines or benzylamine with palladium (II) acetate in anhydrous acetic acid under nitrogen were investigated. Experiment results demonstrate that cyclopalladations in such condition are applicable not only to the present system under study but also to the 5-substituted bis(imino)benzenes 6, 7. The molecular structure of 3b was further confirmed by X-Ray single-crystal diffraction. 3b Crystallizes in orthorhombic, space group

PENG Yan-Mei, CUI Xian-Bao, ZHANG Ying, FENG Tian-Yang, XUE Le-Xing, TIAN Zheng
Vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for methanol-methyl acetate-1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl] imide ([BMIM][Tf
2
N]) at 101.3 kPa were measured. The experimental VLE data were correlated by nonrandom two liquid (NRTL) activity coefficient model, and the binary parameters were obtained. The results show that the ionic liquid [BMIM][Tf
2
N] produces a notable salting-out effect, which enhances the relative volatility of methanol to methyl acetate, and relative volatility of methanol to methyl acetate increase with the concentration of [BMIM][Tf
2
N] in the system. The effects of [BMIM][Tf
2
N] and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium hexaflurophosphate ([OMIM][PF
6
]) were compared, and the results indicated that [BMIM][Tf
2
N] was more effective for the separation of methanol-methyl acetate system.

LYU Dong-Can , LIU Yun-Quan, WANG Duo
Complexation extraction with trioctylamine (TOA) as solvent for the recovery of acetic acid from bio-oil was studied. The effects of TOA concentration, iso-octyl alcohol concentration, volume ratio of extractant/distillate and temperature on extraction efficiency were examined. Experimental results indicated that the extraction efficiency was the highest with 40% TOA+40% iso-octyl alcohol+20% kerosene and 3∶1 volume ratio of extractant/distillate at the temperature of 0 ℃. And an extraction efficiency of 74.6% for acetic acid was achieved in a single-equilibrium-stage extraction under this optimal condition.

Coagulation Properties and Effect of Bathing Seawater
WANG Wen-Hua, ZHANG Xiao-Qing, QIU Jin-Quan, WANG Jing, ZHANG Yu-Shan
The coagulation properties of bathing seawater were investigated by using iPDA (intelligent Particle Dispersion Analyzers) and Turbiscan Stability Analyzers. The orthogonal test was designed to optimize the coagulation conditions, and removal efficiencies of the main pollutants in bathing seawater were also discussed. By comparison, the coagulation effect of aluminum sulfate (AS) was better than other inorganic flocculants. The size and the setting property of the formed flocs were affected by flocculant dosage. The removal rates for pollutants of bathing seawater increased by combining aluminum sulfate and cationic polyacrylamide. The optimum coagulation conditions were obtained: the dosages of 50 mg/L and 0.5 mg/L for AS and PAM, 250 r/min for 2.5 min, 60 r/min for 20 min and setting time for 25 min. The removal rates of turbidity, LAS and COD
Cr
were 93.13%, 74.64% and 42.92% respectively.

Dynamics Simulation of the Stability of Capsomere
BAI Shu, TANG Rong-Hong, ZHANG Lin
Virus-like particles (VLP) is a selfassembly of capsomere (Cap) with great potential in vaccinology, gene therapy, drug delivery, and materials science. The stability of Cap is crucial for its selfassembly to VLP. In the present study, the allatom molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are performed to investigate the effect of solution conditions on the stabilization of Cap. The conformational transition has been investigated. The structure of solvent is also examined to explore the molecular mechanism of the regulation on the stabilization of Cap by solution conditions. In both stabilization buffer and aqueous solution, Na
+
can be attracted and accumulated around protein through electrostatic interaction, and forms a shell with water molecules. This is very important for the stabilization of Cap. Moreover, in stabilization buffer, the shell formed by accumulated Na
+
around the protein can induce the formation of a shell of Cl
-
. The multishell structure causes more hydrogen bonds within Cap and consequently provides better stabilization of Cap. These results provide molecular insights into the effect of solution condition on the stabilization of Cap, which would be beneficial for the regulation of VLP selfassembly.

GENG Zhao-Hui1, 2 , 4 , HAO Tong1, 2 , 4 , MA Hong-Wu3, 4
The external metabolites that can be transferred to/from the cell can greatly affect the analysis results. In this paper, the genome-scale metabolic networks of
E. coli
and
B. subtilis
as examples were used to simulate the metabolic states at various conditions where different transport reactions for external metabolites were knocked out. The result showed the preference of different metabolic byproducts were related with their energy states, thus providing some guidance on engineering a strain to improve the production of different metabolic products.
