313 CFD Simulation of Backmixing of the Liquid in Structured Packing Column

By analyzing the flow channel in the structured packing, three basic structure cells in the structured packing:single cross-over in the same set of packing, the cross-over of the 90° turn on the boundary of the two sets of the packing and the packing structure next to the wall were proposed. RNG k-ε turbulent model was selected to perform CFD simulation of the 3-D flow of the liquid in different structure cell and the simulation showed that different structure cell had different flow characteristics. Furthermore, incentive and response technology of the tracer was used to study the axial backmixing of the liquid in different structure cell.

317 Synthesis of Silicon Phthalocyanine Dihydroxide

In this paper,the synthesis of dichloro (phthalocyanino) silicon is studied. Dichloro (phthalocyanino) silicon is obtained by adding the product into methanol. Dichloro (phthalocyanino) silicon is converted to silicon phthalocyanine dihydroxide by adding the dichloro (phthalocyanino) -sulfuric acid solution into cold water, the total product yield is 77%. Compared with the traditional alcoholysis, this route can enormously improve the reaction yield, and their structures are confirmed by IR.

321 Studies on the Reaction of Chloride Polyether Polyol with Dimethyl Phosphite

The flame retardant polyether polyol(HIROL) containing phosphorus was synthesized with dimethyl phosphite and high reactive chloride polyether polyol(CHIRO) which had chloromethyl group in side chain. The effect of process conditions, such as microwave, reactant ratio, catalyst and solvent etc, on the nucleophilic substitution and yield of product were investigated. The results showed that when the content of phosphorus reached 141%—673%, HIROL was a transparent amber liquid whose viscosity was 0359—0668 Pa·s. Then oxygen index of flame retardant soft PU foam composed of HIROL was 226—283 and the other mechanical and technical parameters were in accord with those in GB12080-89.

325 Effect of Different Reductive on Pd/γ-Al_2O_3 Catalyst

Two Pd/γ-Al_2O_3 catalysts were reduced by H_2 and KBH_4 respectively and their catalytic activities in anthraquinone hydrogenation to produce H_2O_2 were introduced.Results indicated the catalyst reduced by KBH_4 showed higher activity and longer service life than that reduced by H_2. Surface analysis of the two catalysts was carried out.

327 Influence of Permanent Magnetic Field on the Molecular Mass-Transfer Process in Gas Phase

In the magnetic field which has different intensity of magnetization, the influence of permanent magnetic field on the molecular mass-transfer process in gas phase was investigated. The results indicate that magnetic field have positive effect on the molecular mass-transfer process of water,methanol,ethanol,formic acid and acetic acid in the air,viz diffusivity increase in the magnetic field. The quantitative account shows that the diffusivity increases 4%—7%, magnetic field have no effect on the molecular mass-transfer process of benzene,toluene,acetone and methyl ethyl ketone in the air. Through analyzing on experimental result, the mechanism of permanent magnetic field on the molecular mass-transfer process in gas phase was discussed.

331 Study on the Surface Modification of Hydrotalcite

Hydrotalcite was surface modified by using sodium stearate. The factors of different treatment conditions such as temperature, time, amount of modifier, were analyzed. X-ray and FTIR were performed to characterize the hydrotalcites before and after treated. Results show the activation index was a fairly well coefficient to denote the treating effect and this promoted the application of this novel flame-retardant in industry.

334 Catalytic Reduction of SO_2 by CO over LaCoO_3 in O_2 Atmosphere

LaCoO_3 is used in the reduction of SO_2 by CO in O_2 atmosphere.As a catalyst,the effects of catalysts volume and temperature on reaction have been analyzed.And it verifies that phases of La_2O_2S and CoS_2 are the active phases.By comparing the XRD spectrum, a mechanism is proposed to describe the reason why LaCoO_3 deactived in O_2 atmosphere and the effect of O_2 on reduction of SO_2 by CO.

337 Synthesis of Porous Fe_2O_3/SiO_2 Composite Microspheres

Monodisperse microshperes consisting of urea-formaldehyde(UF) resins,Fe_2O_3 and SiO_2 were prepared by dispersion polymerization.Different influences on the dispersive extent and the magnitude of the microshperes in different conditions were investigated.The composite microspheres were then submitted for heat treatment to burn out the polymer template and render the remaining particles magnetizable.In this process α-Fe_2O_3 was partly transformed into γ-Fe_2O_3.SEM micrograph of the UF resins/Fe_2O_3/SiO_2 microspheres and XRD spectrum of the Fe_2O_3/SiO_2 microspheres showed that the Fe_2O_3/SiO_2 microspheres were porous,monodisperse and magnetizable.

340 Preparation of TiO_2/PS Composite Microspheres by In-Situ Emulsion Polymerization

In this paper,the composite microspheres of TiO_2/PS(titania/polystyrene)were prepared by in-situ emulsion polymerization.Their reactive conditions and their structure were explored by infrared spectrum (FTIR),transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and differential thermal analyzer (DTA).The results show that TiO_2/PS mono-dispersed composite microspheres with different diameters can be prepared by in-situ emulsion polymerization.In order to get the composite microspheres,it is necessary that the pH of the medium should be above 7 and the amount of emulsifier should be below the critical micelle concentration (CMC).The size of composite microspheres increases with the increasing of styrene concentration.

344 Preparation of NiFe_2O_4 Nanocrystalline by Stearic Acid Gel Method

In this paper,NiFe_2O_4 nanocrystalline particulates were prepared by stearic acid gel method.The products were characterized by TG-DTA,XRD and TEM and were compared with those fabricated by co-precipitation.The results showed that NiFe_2O_4 nanocrystalline prepared by stearic acid gel method had average distributed uniformity and small grain size without aggregation.

347 Development of EVA Low Temperature Flow Improver for Diesel Fuel

The preparation of EVA-type low temperature flow improver for diesel fuel was studied.The factors of the polymerization were investigated,such as the pressure,the temperature,the initiator concentration and the vinyl acetate concentration,in order to obtain the principles of adjusting the viscosity,the vinyl acetate content and decreasing degree of the cold filter plugging point for the product.Additionally the mechanism of the synthesized low temperature flow improver was explored preliminarily using XRD and DSC.

351 Progress in Titanium Catalysts Used for Epoxidation of Allyl Chloride

Epichlorohydrin is an important chemical intermediate with wide and prosperous application.In this paper,the recent progress in the synthesis of epichlorohydrin by direct epoxidation of allyl chloride catalyzed by TiO_2/SiO_2,TS-1 and the modified TS-1 catalysts is introduced.The features and prospect of the different processes are discussed.The difficulties in the research of direct allyl chloride oxidation and the developing trend are pointed out.

356 Progress in Parameters Measurement and Regime Identification Methods on Loop Reactors

Loop reactors present some advantages:a simple construction without internals or moving parts,good heat and mass transfer capacity at low energy consumption and low shear stress with little damage to cells,so they are preferentially used for chemical,environmental and biochemical applications.Measurement techniques on gas holdup and liquid circulation velocity in loop reactors and identification methods of homogeneous regime and heterogeneous regime are summarized.Some tendencies on further development are presented.

On the basis of the preliminary analysis of the mechanisms, several pivotal questions which should be solved in the future research have been mentioned.

376 Measurement of the Inter Liquid Diffusion Coefficients in Zeolite Catalysts

The inter diffusion characteristics of benzene and isopropyl benzene in zeolite catalysts were studied by the simple and practical method.Based on measuring the different concentrations of diffusion solute in all time,the inter coefficients of all diffusion solute in zeolite catalysts were correlated in terms of rational mathematical model and least square fitting.This can supply fundamental data for the industrial simulation of benzene alkylation.

379 Process Optimization of Residual Catalytic Cracking Reactor-Regenerator System

By using of thirteen lumped kinetic models,the simulation calculation for fluidized catalytic cracking unit with capacity of residual 6×10~5 (t/a) in Daqing Oilfield Chemical Plant was carried out.The effect of feedstocks ratio,reaction temperature,dispersion steam quantity and fast cooling oil quantity on product distribution have been investigated and the process is optimized.The results of simulation were very comparable with the actual operational data.

383 A New Process of Synthesizing Phenylacetaldehyde as a Perfume

Phenylacetaldehyde,a perfume,was prepared by reaction of phenylethlene glycol catalyzed by zeolite ZSM-5 which is treated by hydrochloride acid.The conditions of the reaction were optimized by orthogonal test and the mechanism was analyzed.The percentages of the conversion and the yield were determined and the factors influenced on the reaction were discussed.

385 Studies on the Recovery of Silver from Waste Dregs

The solution of silver nitrate was obtained by treating the silver-contained waste liquid and waste dregs with the solution of hydrochloric acid,transforming the sediments with the solution of potassium carbonate and potassium hydroxide,and dissolving the transformed sediments in dilute nitric acid.The solution of silver nitrate could be concentrated and crystallized or re-crystallized so as to get the solid silver nitrate,the content of which was obove 99.8%,and the amounts of impurities were complied with the national products level of analytical reagent(A.R).

388 Research Actualities and Application of Catalytic Distillation Technology

Catalytic distillation,a new technology developed rapidly in 1980s,provides lots of advantages such as less investment,lower energy consumption and higher selectivity.In this article,the progress and applications of the catalytic distillation are reviewed.The catalytic distillation column and the catalysts are introduced.The sructure and packed way of catalyst bed,mass transfer and the mathematic models in the column are summarized.Some key problem for development in this traditional discipline are discussed.In addition,the developing tending is proposed and the existing problems are pointed out.
