Chemical Industry and Engineering is a comprehensive academic journal sponsored by Tianjin University and Chemical Engineering Society of Tianjin. The journal started in 1984 and is published bimonthly on 15th in odd month.

The major aim of Chemical Industry and Engineering is to report the original achievements and the latest development in the field of chemical engineering science and industry both at home and abroad.

It covers the latest developments of theoretical and applied researches in the fields of chemical industry and engineering. The journal primarily covers the following:

Fundamental research (in such areas as thermodynamics, transport phenomena, chemical reaction kinetics and engineering, separations, interfacial phenomena, catalysis, and materials)

Process design and development (for example, synthesis and design methods, systems analysis, process control, schemes for data correlation, modeling and scale-up procedures, analysis method, improvement of traditional techniques, etc.)

Papers dealing with environment, biochemical engineering and pharmaceutical technology and new areas of science and technology that fit the broad scope and objectives of the journal are encouraged. 

The journal has been chosen as a fixed periodical to be abstracted by several foreign and domestic databases, including CA, CAS, IC, CAJCED, CJFD, Chinese Sciences Citation Database(CSCD)，Abstract of China chemical engineering, etc. At present, all articles of the journal can be retrieved through China Journal Network.

All submitted papers have to be reviewed by peer reviewer.The articles are published in Chinese, but the abstract, tables, figures, keywords and references are provided in English.

Chemical Industry and Engineering established the independent website (http: // jchemindustry.tju.edu.cn)  in 2011. Manuscript submission, manuscript tracking, and peer review process can be completed online.
