3 A Study of PVT —Properties for Binary Liquid Mixtures of n —Heptane with Alcohols at High Pressures
Tian Yiling Song Ying Li Jun Ren Xiaowen
A high pressure autoclave equipped with windows is described. PVT data of liquid-liquid systems ( n -heptane+ethyl alcohol), ( n -heptane+propnol 1), ( n -heptane+butanol 1) and ( n -heptane+propnol 1), in temperature range from 298 to 373K and at pressure up to 90MPa were measured by direct method. In these investigated systems, the later three were determined for the first time. Excess molar volumes and isothermal compressibilities were also evaluated from the experimental results and some discussions were given. The Thomson Equation was used in computing the PVT properties of the above systems. The results are quite satisfactoty in comparison with experimental data.

9 Modification of Benzidine Yellow G with Non-ionic Surfactants
Wang Shirong
The effects of structure and addition quantity of non-ionic surfactants such as OP-4, OP-7, OP-10 and OS-15 on properties of Benzidine Yellow G were studied. Effect of modification of pigment with active agents built up with Span-80 and Tween-80 was also involved. It was shown that the built-up modifying agents had synergistic action.

14 Correlation of Vapor Liquid Equilibria with Pure Component Vapor Pressure Equation
Chen Xinzhi
Combining the classical thermodynamic relations with the two-fluid theory, vapor liquid equilibria of halogenated hydrocarbon systems at low pressure are correlated from the saturated vapor pressures of the pure components. With only one binary interaction parameter, the calculation results are equivalent to or better than those from the two parameters Wilson activity coefficient model.

18 Laboratory Research on Refinement of Straight Diesel Distillate by Extraction with Ethanol-Water
Tang Xiaodong Xu Rong
To treat some problems which are present in the caustic washing and electric field treating for straight diesel distillate and in the batch process of recovering naphthenic acid by means of sulfuric acid neutralization, this paper primarily takes the ethanol-water as an extraction solvent to treat the straight-run diesel oil and simultaneously obtain naphthenic acid products. The laboratory research shows that the advantages of this method are: no emulsification, no need of high electric field intensity, rapid separation of oil and solvent, no corrosion for vessels, no waste liquid to dispose and lower operation cost. Meanwhile, the refined straight diesel distillate can completely reach the specifications of oil from the processes of caustic washing and electric treatment.

23 Study on Extraction Technology of Corn Germ Oil Using Supercritical CO 2
Gao Yanxiang
Supercritical CO 2 extraction of corn germ oil was investigated with a laboratory apparatus. Extraction experiments were designed by response surface methodology(RSM) and conducted at different levels of extraction pressure, temperature and particle size. Effects of the extraction parameters on CO 2 consumption at 90% oil yield of were evaluated. Response function was developed and fitted to experimental data. Compositions of germ oils prepared by SC-CO 2 extraction, Soxhlet extraction with hexane and cold pressing were also analysed and compared.

28 Mathematical Model for Ester Interchange Tower ——the Simulation of Distillation with Reaction
Li Xin Cui Dezhu Chen Zhenxin
A mathematical model using tridiagonal matrix for ester interchange tower was developed.A new calculation method, parameter moving, was developed and skills to specify initial value to accelerate comvergence and avoid divergence in the simulation of distillation with reaction were elaborated.

62 Bumping Phenomenon in the Preparation of 1 Chloropinacolone
Chen Zongting Xing Xiaodong
In preparation of 1 chloropinacolone(1 chloro 3,3 dimethy1 2 butanone) by chlorination of pinacolone in methanol, the reaction mixture may vigorously bump sometimes. The reason is that the system (usually in methanol) is contaminated by small amount of water. Under this chlorination condition, water reacts with chlorine via hypochloric acid to form very unstable chloric acid. The decomposition of chloric acid results in bumping under certiain condition.Water limitation for safety operation is estimated.Observations of the impact of some metals and salts have been made. The method of predisposition of methanol and decomposition of water in it is put forward.
