Abstract In this paper,current situation of chemical industry is summarized.The emphasis is on the perspective about the development of traditional chemical industry,fine chemicals,new types of catalysts and catalytic technologies,novel chemical materials,biochemical engineering,chemical automation ,non environmental pollution and clear technologies.A discussion is given to the reasonable utilization of energy in chemical industry.
