Abstract A high pressure autoclave equipped with windows is described. PVT data of liquid-liquid systems ( n -heptane+ethyl alcohol), ( n -heptane+propnol 1), ( n -heptane+butanol 1) and ( n -heptane+propnol 1), in temperature range from 298 to 373K and at pressure up to 90MPa were measured by direct method. In these investigated systems, the later three were determined for the first time. Excess molar volumes and isothermal compressibilities were also evaluated from the experimental results and some discussions were given. The Thomson Equation was used in computing the PVT properties of the above systems. The results are quite satisfactoty in comparison with experimental data.
