Abstract To treat some problems which are present in the caustic washing and electric field treating for straight diesel distillate and in the batch process of recovering naphthenic acid by means of sulfuric acid neutralization, this paper primarily takes the ethanol-water as an extraction solvent to treat the straight-run diesel oil and simultaneously obtain naphthenic acid products. The laboratory research shows that the advantages of this method are: no emulsification, no need of high electric field intensity, rapid separation of oil and solvent, no corrosion for vessels, no waste liquid to dispose and lower operation cost. Meanwhile, the refined straight diesel distillate can completely reach the specifications of oil from the processes of caustic washing and electric treatment.
