A Single Parameter Correlation of Liquid Diffusion Coefficients with Concentration

From Eyring's absolute reaction rate theory,a new equation correlating liquid diffusion coefficient with concentration is developed.Comparison of the equation results with the available data for 38 binary systems shows good agreement.The average deviation for 586 data points is 1.42%.

Study of Solid-Liquid Suspension and Its Scale-up in Stirred Tanks
He Shanshan;Li Zhenhua;Wan Maorong;Tan Qiu
Scale-up of stirred-tank with a coiled pipe, dished bottom and agitator with a inclined-blade turbine for solids in liquid suspension was studied. Experiments were conducted in three plexiglass-tanks of 0.2,0.5and 1.0m diameter respectively.The suspension concentration was measured by laser method.Empirical correlations of stirring speed and specific power both for off-bottom suspension and for homogeneous suspension were obtained. The latter one agrees with the equation of homogeneous suspension derived from the axial velocity distribution.The results show that the scale-up exponent of tank diameter mainly depends on the recycle volumetric flow number.

The Structure and Properties of Highly Depersed Catalysts Pd-Cu/C Prepared Via Solvated Metal Atom Impregnation Method

The solvated metal atom impregnation(SMAI)method was employed to Prepare three kind of Pd-Cu/C bimetallic catalysts with diffrent Pd/Cu ratios.The results of XRD and TEM measuments showed that Pd-Cu alloy was formed and the particle size of the alloy was very small,with average diameter<5.0nm.XPS and Auger spectra indicated that both Pd and Cu were in zero-valent state, As Cu contents increased,the catalytical activities of the catalysts in the hydrogenation of mesityl oxide increased, while the selectivities for 4-methyl-2-pentanone were essentially unchanged.

The Gas-Solid Flow in Downcomer of Circulating Fluidized BedⅡ──Gas Flow
Dong Zhongbing;Zhao Lianzhong;Yang Guilin
Hydrodynamics of gas flow of cocurrent downflow of gas-solid mixture was investigated in a downcomer of 110mm ID equipped in a circulating Fluidized Bed by means of tracer gas technique with helium gas for two kinds of particle. A new gas flow equation deduced from the analysis of the interaction beween gas and solid was given. The predicted results of this equation were in good agreement with experimental data.

The variation pattern of outlet gas concentration when absorbent recycles in low-concentrations gas absorption tower was studied in this article.It was shown that the rise in outlet concentration due to absorbent recycling was less than two reference values y2 ,and y2, b.This analysis is of value in the design and operation of absorption columns.

The Distillation System Design in the Production of High Purity Tert-butylphenol
Feng Huisheng
The distillation design of isomeric tert-butylphenols and its production process are given in detail in this paper.Applying the batch distillation technique of varying pressure and varying reflux ratio,three products of more than 99%(wt%)purity are obtained in a highly efficient packing tower.This technique is making 4 000 ton/year of low pressure steam as byproduct and saving 16 0000 ton/year of recycling cool water.

Indirect Determination of Barium by Acid-Base Titration

An acid-base titration method is proposed for the lndirect determination of barium.It is based on the fact that Ba ̄2+ reacts with K_2Cr_2O_7 solution to form a yellow precipitate of BaCrO_4 and the free H ̄+ can then be titrated with standard NaOH solution.The method is simple and rapid. This method has been used in the determination of barium in barium salts and barite with satisfactory results.

A Modification in Overlimed Method for Production of Magnesia from Brine

For lowering the B_2O_3 and CaO content in magnesia from brine by two-step-overlimed method,a modification was proposed,i.e.,the brine deboronized by resin instead of raw-brine is used in the secend step.By this modification the B_2O_3 content in magnesia is 63% lower than that by conventional two-step method.

Modification of Determination for Frictional Pressure Drop of Gas-Liquid Two-Phase Up-Flow in Vertical Tube

The frictional pressure drop of gas-liquid two-phase up-flow in vertical tube has been investigeted.The technigue of measurement of differential pressure and holdup have been improved.The flow patterns were determined by visual observation. Experiments were carried out with air and water in a vertical glass tube of 19mm inside diameter and 1500mm height. The values of frictional pressure drop were calculated from experiment data of differential pressure and holdup.
