1 Effects of Magnetic Field on Crosslinking and Electric Insulation Property of Epoxy Resin

Effects of a constant magnetic field(CMF)on the crosslinking of E-51 epoxy resin with methyl nadic anhydride and 2-ethyl-4-methylimidazole have been studied by measuring the bulk resistivity of curing resin and by the methods of infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Effects of CMF on the curing process and of magnetization before curing have been discussed. It shows that the crosslinking structure of epoxy resin treated by CMF is packed more tightly and more regularly because of the orientation of macromolecules. Thus, the bulk resistivity of curing epoxy resin is increased by 1~4 times.

8 Study of Thermal Stability of Organic Pigments(Ⅳ)——Synthesis of 2-Carbamoy1-4-nitroaniline and Its Azo Pigments

The methods of synthesizing 2-carbamonyl-4-nitroaniline and 3-amino-5- nitro-2,1-benzisothiazol from 2-cyano-4-nitroaniline were studied. A series yellow pigments were prepared by using these two compounds and acetoacetarylide derivatives. It was found that 2-cyano-4-nitroaniline can be hydrolyzed to give diazo salt of 2-carbamoyl-4-nitroaniline during diazotizing withnitrosyl sulfuric acid at 70℃. The presence of -CN and -CONH_2 in the diazocomponents, and of -OCH_3 and -CH_3 in the coupling components can imporove the shade and thermal stability of the pigments.

17 Crystallization Kinetics of Hexamethylenetetramine in a Vacuum Evaporation Crystallizer

Hexamethylenetetramine crystallization kinetics is determined in a vacuum evaporation crystallizer with related Parameters. It is interesting to note that the crystallization of hexamethylenetetramine has special characteristics under Vacuum evaporation. The kinetics evaluated in this study is correlated by the equation: B°=39.94G1.1M_T-1.17 (TIPS) 1.68 It is shown that, for the system of hexamethylenetetramine with the index of crystal growth rate approximating to 1, the increase of the average crystal size of the product can not be obtained by simply increasing the crystal retention time. In order to obtain satisfactory size and size distributions of the product, it is very important to choose agitation speed because secondary nucleation is very much dependent on it.

25 The Graft Copolymerization of N-Vinylpyrrolidone onto Gelatin

The graft-copolymerization of N-vinylpyrrolidone onto gelatin, with α, α′-azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator in aqueous medium has been studied. The grafting products has been verified by IR spectrum. The effeets of various reaction parameters on the percentage of grofting, grafting efficiency, average molecular weight of the grafted chains and the rate of graft copolymerization have been studied.

32 Research on Combustion Catalysts for Hydrocarbons

The combustion catalysts for hydrocarbons have been successfully synthesized. Two catalysts, composite Cr catalyst and catalyst 82019 (Mn, Co, Ag), have been selected by comparison in the laboratory with household. The efficiency of removing hydrocarbons by the two catalysts can reach over 99.6%. There are no detrimental materials, such as Nox etc., in the Product gas. At the same time, the optimum condition for using the composite Cr catalyst has been determined and it has been compared with the Pt catalyst. The properties of the catalysts, for examples the low-oxygen catalysis, the thermal stabilyty, the initial combustion temperature and the catalytic life, etc., haye been investigated. It has been shown that the efficiency of removing hydrocarbon is not obviously decreased after 1000 hours of operation.
