Abstract Effects of a constant magnetic field(CMF)on the crosslinking of E-51 epoxy resin with methyl nadic anhydride and 2-ethyl-4-methylimidazole have been studied by measuring the bulk resistivity of curing resin and by the methods of infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Effects of CMF on the curing process and of magnetization before curing have been discussed. It shows that the crosslinking structure of epoxy resin treated by CMF is packed more tightly and more regularly because of the orientation of macromolecules. Thus, the bulk resistivity of curing epoxy resin is increased by 1~4 times. |
