Abstract The graft-copolymerization of N-vinylpyrrolidone onto gelatin, with α, α′-azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator in aqueous medium has been studied. The grafting products has been verified by IR spectrum. The effeets of various reaction parameters on the percentage of grofting, grafting efficiency, average molecular weight of the grafted chains and the rate of graft copolymerization have been studied.
