Research on the Hydrodynamic Characteristics in a Packed Extraction Column

Three systems are studied in this work: kerosene-water, kelosene-26.1％ glycerol aqueous solution and 2-ethyl-hexanol-water.The diameter of the pocked column used is 75mm. Under the condition of on mass transfer, the dispersed-phase holdup and pressure drep are investigated with three different types of packings intalox saddles, rasching ring and lessing ring. Based on the experimental data, the correlations for predicting dis-persed-phase holdup and pressure drop in the state of floodling have been obtained by linear regression.

The Kinetics of Leaching Silver from Ores by Cyanidation
Fu Jianshun Zhou Zhanyun
The leaching rate of silver is sped up through the cnhancencnt of mass transport and cathode reactlon by adding MS additive. The process is well described by using Shrinking Core Model. Experimental resalts indicate that the whole precess of leaching is still controlled by. the diffusion of reactants in the presence of MS. Experimental data obtained and theoretical analysis lead to the development of the following model: 1-(1-X)2/3=[26.5w~(1.40)S~(0.48)[CN~-]~(0.02)exp(-6598/R'T)]t The average deviation of the computed results from the experimental data is found to be 4.3％ only.

Present Status and Trend of Development of Light Stabilizers for Plastics
Ding Zuoming
Recent technical Progress of light stabilizers is reviewed. Along with the continual extension of application of plastics, light stabilizers have been developed at a higher speed than the other additives for plastics. Among all kinds of the light stabilizers, the performence of the Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS)ranks first.In China, the present annual productive capacity of light stabilizers is about 500 tons, and the demand for then will be 3100 tonS by 2000, During processing and use of plastics under light temperature and other severe environments, the stabilizers may more or less volatilize and migrate out. To synthesize high molecular stabilizers is one of the ways to overcome the problem. Moreover research works on stabilizer which can react with base polymer to form some chemical bonds have been very active. In order to meet the demands of high performance and low cost, attention should be paid to the Synergistic effect through compounding the existing additives.
