1 The Effect of Preparation Method on the Characteristic of V-P-O Catalyst for Production of Maleic Anhydride from n-Butane

Two V-P-O catalysts used for production of maleic anhydride from normal butane were prepared in different ways and thoroughly investigated. The results shows that the preparation method significantly causes the change of phase composition, pore size distribution and specific surface area, but has little effect on its morphology. It was discovered that the active phase of the catalyst for oxidation of n-butane to maleic anhydride is just the phase(VO)_2 P_2O_7, and increase of pore volume with pore size100~2000A is advantageous to its catalytic activity.

9 A Study on Paired Electrosynthesis of Benzaldehyde from Toluene

Indirect electrooxidation of toluene to benzaldehyde simultaneously in the cathodic and anodic compartment of a cell has been studied. In conditions of using platinum plating electrodes, using V(Ⅴ)/V(Ⅳ) and Ma(Ⅲ)/Mn(Ⅱ) as cathodic and anodic redox couples,the maximum total current efficiency for benzaldehyde production is 179.5%. The effect of additive CTAB on chemical oxidation rates and the effect of externally added H_2O_2 on selectivity of cathodic electrosynthesis have been investigated.
