Abstract Dicyclohexyl phthalate was prepared without solvent by transesterifying di-methyl-o-phthalate with cyclohexanol in the presence of organic-tin as a catalyst.The effects of catalyst and its amount,temperature,reaction time and molar ratio of the raw material on the reaction were studied.The experimental results show the yield of dicyclohexyl phthalate can be 93.5% when di-methyl-o-phthalate is 0.2 mol,cyclohexanol is 0.44 mol,catalyst amount is 1.4 g,reaction time is 5 h,and reaction temperature is ranged from 140 ℃ to 150 ℃.The melting point of the product is 63 ℃—65 ℃.Elemental analysis,IR and ()~1HNMR were performed to characterize the structure of the product.
