Abstract Using TiCl_4/Al(i-Bu)_3 as initiating system to polymerize 1-dodecene by bulk prepolymerization, high efficiency oil-solvent drag reducer was synthesized. The influence of DDS,the 1-dodecene volume ratio of prepolymerization to postpolymerization, prepolymerization temperature and prepolymerization time on drag reducing efficiency were studied.Under the optimal synthesis conditions, the drag reducing performance of the polymer was better. The results of drag reducing tests in circle conduit indicated that polymer with the drag reducing efficiency of 50.67% and the transportation-increasing rate of 48.1% could be achieved by adding mass concentration 10 mg/L of the final product to diesel fuel. The results of IR,GPC and()~1H-NMR showed that the conversion rate nearly reached 100%,the average molecular weight was 3.58×10~6 and the polydispersity index was 4.44.The dosage of catalyst used in bulk prepolymerization could be saved over 40% compared to that used in bulk polymerization.
