Abstract In recent years, China's coal-based natural gas(SNG) industry has developed rapidly. This paper started from the selection of coal gasification technology, combining with the water gas shift, gas purification and methanation process. The material balance of the whole process was calculated by simplified method, the influence of gasification technology on the production of synthetic natural gas was analyzed, and two main moving bed gasification technology (LURGI and BGL) was compared and discussed. The investment and economic operation benefits of different technical routes was compared, which indicates that moving bed gasification technology has more economic and technological advantages than the other two process.
