Abstract Nitrogen charging system was discussed as a control method for distillation pressure control. It is consisted of three parts, constant pressure, positive pressure and negative pressure parts, where constant pressure part is connected to the top of distillation column. Experimental results showed that the new method was more prompt and reliable. The feasibility, sensitivity and reliability of the nitrogen charging control system were verified through experiments, also application of this control method to distillation micropositive pressure control was carried out in experiments, and results showed that nitrogen charging control method was more sensitive and stable.
