Abstract Based on the pressure drop of differential element and integration for the whole region, an equation for calculating the total pressure drop of gas—liquid two—phase bubble flow was derived as followsP 1-P 2=d-bcac ln (1+d+acP 1d+acP 2)+ZcIn doing this, the variation in voidage and gas density along the pipe were considered to be continuous. This model has the advantages of simpler calculation and higher accuracy when it is used to calculate the pressure drop of bubble flow in vertical pipe.
