Abstract Sintering dust collecting ash is a solid waste produced in process of sintering iron ore powder which contains valuable elements such as potassium chloride and can be used as the secondary resource. In this paper, the leaching process of sintering dust, purification and evaporation of leaching liquid is studied to obtain potassium chloride product. Results show that the optimization conditions of the preparation are:leaching temperature 60℃, leaching time 0.5 h, ratio of leaching liquid to solid 1.5, 1.6 times of sodium carbonate theory dosage, purification at room temperature, precipitation time 0.5 h, mixing speed 300 r/min.
