Abstract Sodium dichloro-iso-cyanurate (DCCNa) is a kind of solid chlorine-containing product. It is a kind of disinfectant with high efficiency, safety, easier transportation and reservation. The synthesis of sodium dichloro-iso-cyanurate with sodium hypochlorite has comparable advantages such as the simplicity of process and low corrosive, which can be produced near a chlorine alkali factory. An effective two-step way of producing sodium dichloro-iso-cyanurate was carried out experimentally in this paper, in which the available chlorine content of DCCNa can reach about 62%. The first step is to add chlorine into a caustic soda solution at a low temperature to make high concentration sodium hypochlorite. The second step is to add chlorine into the mixture of NaCLO and cyanuric acid. By filtration and drying under vacuum, the qualified mass content of DCCNa product can be manufactured.
