Abstract The pore size and its distribution on the surface of polyethersulfone (PES) hollow fiber plasmapheresis membrane were characterized by using microscopic observation method of field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM) and solute transport model method based on particle separation.The geometric mean pore size is 229nm. The pore size is distribution ranged from 150nm��350nm,obtained by FESEM.The mean pore size is 197nm,which was obtained from solute sieving coefficients.The PES hollow fiber membrane with mean pore size about 200nm was suit for plasmapheresis.
