Abstract In this paper,COD removal and colour removal of H-acid model waste water under wet air oxidation using a gaseous source of air with different temperature, air pressure and pH value are investigated. The results show that COD removal and colour removal of 10 000 mg/L H-acid waste water under 200℃,5 0MPa air pressure and 7 5 pH value after 60min retention time are 88 7% and 95 2% respectively.According to GC/MS analysis, the main residual component is acetic acid after COD removal reaches above 86 8% under wet air oxidation and there is no toxic H-acid component existing in the residual products. The First-order reaction dynamic model of WAO of H acid waste water includes two steps between experimental temperature 171℃ and 200℃.
