Abstract A key intermediate of 2-benzylphenol was synthesized from benzyl alcohol and phenol by Claisen rearrangement reaction in the presence of activated alumina and the analog of bifemelane with new structure was prepared by etherification,amination and acidification reaction of the intermediate.The yield of 2-benzylphenol increased under the optimal synthetic route.The structure of the synthetic compounds was determined by IR,(()~1HNMR) and elementary analysis.
