Abstract Based on the separate research on anoxic and anaerobic and aerobic process for biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal of municipal wastewater,a reversed traditional A~2/O(anaerobic/anoxic/oxic) process without inner circumfluence was developed.The experiment on removing nitrogen and phosphorus compounds was carried out under the best conditions.The results showed that the cost of the proposed process was less than that of A~2/O process and the effluent nitrogen,phosphorus and COD concentrations could meet with the first-grade discharge standard of pollutants for municipal waster treatment plant(GB 18918-2002).These can offer primary conditions for more sweeping experiment.
