Abstract p -ethyl-styrene was synthesised from ethylbenzene by several steps of Friedel-Crafts acylation,reduction and dehydration.Among which acylation is the more important.The reaction process of acylation was monitored by Gas-chromatography.The effects of solvents,reactants ratio and temperature on the yield and selectivity were determined.Optimization of parameters was got out.The products were identified by methods of IR and 1HNMR.
