Abstract The synthesis of 3-O-benzoyl-1,2,5,6-O-diisopropylidene-��-D-allofuranose was studied in this paper. With ��-D-glucose as raw material, 3-O-benzoyl-1,2,5,6-O-diisopropylidene-��-D-allofuranose was synthesized by isopropylene protection, oxidation, reduction and benzoylation. Product of each step and final products were characterized by TLC and (()~1H-NMR.) The route is simple and convenient and the raw material can be obtained easily.This method has potential for application.
