Abstract A method for the determination of galacturonic acid in MCP with m-hydroxydiphenyl is used.The amount of tetraborate/H_2SO_4 and m-hydroxydiphenyl,the boiling time and the interference by neutral sugar are studied.This method can avoid the interference by neutral sugars.It is a simpler and more specific method than others.
