Abstract The photocatalytic degradation of SO_2 has been investigated in different atmospheres. It is found that the conversion of SO_2 is influenced by O_2 more than the yield of SO_3.And the introduction of CO increases both the conversion of SO_2 and the yield of SO_3.The reaction atmosphere and the property of the catalysts are the decisive factors of the photocatalytic degradation of SO_2.
