Abstract Maleic anhydride was grafted onto ethylene-propyleue rubber.The re-sults showed that benzoyl perpoxide was superior to 2,2-azo-bis-isobuty-ronitrile as an initiator,and the effects of various reaction parameters inclu-ding reaction temperature,concentration of maleic anhydride aud benzoylperoxide,on the percentage of grafting were studied.The existene ofgrafted copolymer was verified by IR spectra and thin layer chromatography.The surface property of grafted copolymer was measured by contact angleagainst water.
