Abstract Based on the determined falling-rate drying curves of both unfrozen and frozen aluminum hydroxide sludge from aluminum fabricating plants,the corresponding moisture diffusivity for these two kinds of sludge is estimated and correlated with temperature and moisture content respectively.The comparison between the moisture diffusivity for both kinds of sludge is also carried out in this investigation.The results show that the moisture diffusivity of frozen aluminum hydroxide sludge increases about 4 3 times as compared with unfrozen aluminum hydroxide sludge.That is caused by the increase in the diameter and porosity of sludge particles in the freezing process.
