Abstract Heating and evaporating are experimented in the innercondensing wiped thin film evaporator with feed of viscous glycerol.The heat transfer resistance and the influence of process variables such as operating pressure,rotating speed of wiper and feed speed on the thin film heating coefficient and evaporating capacity per unit of time are analyzed and studied.It is found that the heat transfer resistance of thin film evaporating of viscous liquid mainly lies in the thin film,and thin film heating coefficient increases with rising the rotating speed and feed speed and with decreasing the pressure,and the evaporating capacity per unit of time increases with rising the rotating speed and with decreasing the pressure and the feed speed.
