Abstract The semi-interpenetrating polymer network membrane based on silicone rubber and hydrogel was prepared via swelling the crosslinked polyvinylmethylsioxane in 2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate monomer solution and then in-situ polymerization of the monomer.The morphology on the cross section of the membrane was observed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) was used to investigate the surface structure of the membrane.The swelling property and drug delivery behavior of this membrane were also tested in physiological saline.The results show that this membrane can swell in water,hence it is considerably permeable to low molecular weight drugs.
