Abstract A new synthesis route of diacetone acrylamide(DIAC) was introduced.Diacetone acrylamide was prepared by reacting diacetone alcohol with acrylonitrile using 98% sulfuric acid as catalyst.Influence of reaction conditions,such as reaction temperature, reaction time and solvent on yield of reaction was considered and optimum reaction condition was obtained.DIAC was obtained with purity of 99.83% and melting point of 55.5��56.0 ��.The yield of DIAC was 48% base on diacetone alcohol.The final product was identified by IR.
