Abstract Nickel-sulfur alloy based on nickel net was obtained by electro-deposition.On the given solution composition and electro-deposition current and temperature, the influence of the electro-deposition time on the hydrogen evolution reaction overpotentials of the Ni-S alloy was analyzed. The results of experiment showed that the hydrogen evolution reaction overpotentials of the Ni-S alloy reduced 130 mV compared with those of the cathode that wasn't electrodeposited. The Ni-S alloy performs an excellent electrocatalytic property for the hydrogen evolution reaction.
