Abstract An adsorbent Ti-pillared montmorillonite(Ti-PILC) with high efficiency to remove arsenic in water was prepared.The effect on removing arsenic under ultraviolet light irradiation has been analyzed and suitable conditions of preparation have been found.The results indicate that Ti-PILC which was disposed at certain temperature and pressure for hours can better remove arsenic in water than the others,and the aluminum in the interval of Na-montmorillonite(Na-MMT) has been replaced by titanium effectively,during which anatase-TiO_2 is completely built and the structure of Ti-pillared is formed.
