Abstract Supercritical water oxidation(SCWO) is a green and high effective technique for treatment of organic wastes that are noxious or difficult to be decomposed.Although it has many outstanding advantages,it has some severe disadvantages which have hindered an industrial application of the process.In this paper,these disadvantages were reviewed and some possible solutions were discussed.
