Abstract Reaction network in catalytic aromatization of isophorone to 3,5-xylenol was investigated in this paper. The concentration distributions of reaction products with different reaction time were analyzed and the detailed reaction network was speculated. It was indicated that this reaction could be classified into two major processes. One is dienone-phenol re-arrangement of isophorone to 3,5-xylenol,the other is decomposition of isophorone to many byproducts. This work provided the foundation for researching the reaction mechanism and optimizing reaction conditions.
