Abstract The Ni/active carbon(AC) electro-catalyst was prepared by chemical reduction method using coconut carbon as the support.Morphologies and structures of Ni/AC were measured and characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.The factors of performance on Ni/AC electro-catalyst were studied.The results showed that Ni content,reaction temperature and mole ratio of N_2H_4/Ni~(2+) had the main effect on performance of Ni/AC electro-catalyst for hydrogen evolution.
