Abstract Mix nonionic surfactants of Span80 and Tween80 series were used to prepare waterinoil diesel microemulsion. Moreover the effects of alcoholdifferent proportion of Span80 and Tween80and different proportion of alcohol and surfactant on the stability of diesel microemulsion were discussed. A series of pseudoternary phase diagram of Span80Tween80/ diesel/n-amyl alcohol/water system were drawn. The final results show that the optimal conditions are obtained. The best mass ratio of Span80 to Tween80 is 46the best auxiliary is n-amyl alcohol and the best mass ratio of auxiliary to surfactant is 0.41. The results were analysed based on HLB and interfacial bark theory.
