Abstract

Bifunctional mesoporous catalysts had been synthesized by post-grafting of nitrogen-containing organic bases, such as aminepropyl (-NH2), imidazole (-Im) and adenine (-Ade). The mesoporous materials were characterized by XRD, TEM, FTIR, N2 adsorption and desorption, TPD and so on. The results showed that the organic basic groups have been successfully grafted in Ti-SBA-15, meanwhile, the ordered mesoporous structure remains intact. The acidic sites lie in the framework and basic sites are located in the pores of Ti-SBA-15. All modified Ti-SBA-15 are able to enhance the catalytic performance in catalyzing CO2 cycloaddition with propylene oxide. In particular, the modification with adenine (-Ade) shows a high catalytic activity as well as a good reusability.
