Abstract

Silk fibroin (SF) and lactic acid/glycolic acid copolymer (PLGA) were dissolved in 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropanol to prepare SF/PLGA solution, and the electrospinning technique was used to prepare the SF/PLGA nanofibrous scaffolds. The scaffolds were characterized by SEM, and process influences on nanofiber morphology such as solution concentration, spinning voltage, receiving distance and volume flow rate were investigated in order to get the optimum process parameters of electrospinning. We tested the HUVECs cells compatibility of the nanofibrous scaffolds. The results showed that the SF/PLGA scaffolds could enhance the viability, spreading, and attachment of HUVECs, so these scaffolds have a good application prospect in the field of tissue engineering.
