Optimization of Crystallization Process of Azithromycin Dihydrate

Abstract In this paper, the influence of initial concentration, pumping rate of anti-solvent and agitation intensity on the crystal size distribution (CSD) of products was considered and then an optimized crystallization technology was proposed. The optimized products were obtained at 40 ℃ with 0.32 g/g initial concentration, 200 r/min agitation rate and 200 μL/min feeding rate. The CSD of products is from 300 μm to 800 μm and the mean crystal size is 580 μm.
