Abstract Nanofiber membranes prepared by electrospinning showed their attractive application prospects as supercapacitor electrode materials because of their large specific surface area and adjustable pore structure. The principle of electrospinning and the keypoints relevant to its usage in the preparation of supercapacitor electrode materials are reviewed in this paper based on recent publications, particularly focusing on the research progress of carbon materials, metal oxide materials, conductive polymer materials.
