Abstract Spinel lithium manganate is the current research focus in anode materials of lithium ion battery. Combined with the author's research, this paper elaborates the preparation, advantages, disadvantages and electrochemical performances of the synthesized materials in traditional industry method and soft chemical methods. It emphasizes to describe the latest methods in the synthesis of lithium manganate and the concrete advantages in these various methods, and at the same time, it introduces many ways which can change the cycle performance of lithium manganate. Besides, it fully explains the great application prospect that lithium manganate will be widely used as an anode material of lithium ion batteries.
