Abstract Molecular Imprinting technique (MIT) involves the preparation of a polymer with selective recognition site for specific molecule. Owing to the advantages of easy preparation, good stability and molecular recognition capacity, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have been applied widely in chromatography separation, solid-phase extraction, mimicenzyme catalysis, electrochemical sensor and other fields. As a new direction of development, organic-inorganic hybrid molecularly imprinted polymer presents two important advantages, excellent mechanical strength and good solvent resistance, over conventional imprinted polymers. In this paper, the conception, principles, characterizations of molecularly printed polymer hybrid materials and some new methods for preparing the polymers were summarized. And, the prospects for the development of molecularly printed hybrid materials were outlooked.
