Abstract The solubility of citric acid in aqueous solution was rapidly measured by novel parallel reactor Poly Block, and its accuracy was verified by traditional static method. A simple and effective method with a short experimental time and reliable result to determine the solubility was established, and it could be used for laboratory and industry. The phase transition of citric acid in aqueous solution was studied by improving the experimental setup of static method, and DSC was employed to determine the transition point by measuring solid content. Moreover, the experimental data were correlated by using nonideal thermodynamic model, namely, the modified Apelblat equation. The calculated results agree well with the experimental data.
