Abstract A series of La2NiO4 type oxides were prepared by the citric acid complexion, and their catalytic performance for simultaneous catalytic removal of NOx and diesel soot particulates were investigated. The results indicate that unsubstituted La2NiO4 show good catalytic activity, the NO conversion is 42%, and the selectivity is 54%, oxygen plays an important role in the title reaction. In order to analyze the effect of A,B site substitution, we substituted a certain amount of La for Sr, Ba at Asite, and a certain amount of Ni for Mn, Fe at Bsite. The results indicated that A,B site substitution had different effect on the title reaction, Asite substituent would mainly influence the selectivity of the reaction, Bsite substituent would mainly influence the reaction temperature range. Substituting a certain amount of La for Sr could enhance the catalytic activity and selectivity, for LaSrNiO4, the NO conversion increased from 42% to 64%, meanwhile, the selectivity increased from 54% to 69% at 300 ℃.
