Abstract The structure and performance of perforated plates of non-uniform perforation are studied in a plastic column and the mass transfer efficiency of oxygen desorption is analysed. The experimental results show that the per rforated plate of non-uniform perforation possesses 5%��10% higher mass transfer efficiency and 30% egreater operational lasticity in compa rision with the perforated plate of uniform perforation.
