Abstract Hydrodynamics of vibrated fluidized bed (diameter 148 mm)of monocomponent particle were investigated. The effects of particle properties (size and density),static bed height and vibrational parameters (frequency and amplitude)on fluidized bed pressure drop were presented.According to the experimental results of 13 kinds of particles (belonging to Geldar's A,B and D groups), an empirical correlation for predicting the ratio of presure drops at minimum fluidization under vibration and no-vibration conditions. ΔPmv/ΔPmf,giving good agreement with experimental data and a deviation within ±10% was proposed.
