Abstract Zeolite/polyacrylic acid (sodium) composite was synthesized by using inverse suspend polymerization method, and then the surface morphology, structure and humidity controlling behaviors of zeolite/polyacrylic acid composite were analyzed and determined. The influence of zeolite and dispersant content, neutralization degree on the humidity controlling properties of composites were investigated by orthogonal experimental method. The results show that zeolite/ polyacrylic acid composite is in a fine particle. During the polymerization process, acrylic acid monomer is grafted to the hydroxyls of zeolite surface and successfully embedded in the hole of zeolite. The impact of three factors on the humidity controlling behavior of composites increases by the order of dispersant content, zeolite content and neutralization degree. The optimum preparation parameters are zeolite content of 20%, dispersant content of 5% and neutralization degree of 80%.
